John Nicholas, Chairman

Currently a Portfolio Manager in the Fund-of-Funds, at Archstone family office. John has organized over a hundred major events in NYC. He is the Chairman and Founder of the Metropolitan Foundation (www.metropolitanfoundation.org), Founder of the New York Athletic Club Mercury Society as well as the Founder and Chairman of the Intrepid Air-Sea-Space Museum Fall Ball/Redd Ball from 1992 until 1999. An active force for many NYC charitable and non-profit organizations, John has helped organize fund raising efforts for A Touch of Comfort, Rock the Farm, Riverkeepers, 1 in 9, Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer, Libby Ross Breast Cancer, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, NYC Cares, Boys Harbor, Young New Yorkers for Charity, The Waterbor Foundation and Nativity Mission Center. A native New Yorker, Mr. Nicholas is a graduate of Fordham Prep and received his BS in Computers/Economics from Trinity College, CT.

John Schutty
John Schutty, Board of Directors

John Schutty owns and operates his own law firm, the Law Office of John F. Schutty, P.C., in New York City. While he has handled a wide variety of complex civil trials and appeals during his career, he is recognized for his expertise in the fields of aviation and civil rights law. His peers in the field of aviation law voted him one of the “Top Lawyers in the New York Metro Area” in both 2007 and 2008. Mr. Schutty is listed as counsel of record in well over forty reported decisions in the state and federal courts, and he has published articles on trial preparation and appeals The New York Law Journal and other well known legal periodicals. Mr. Schutty founded the not-for-profit entity, “Young New Yorkers for Charity,” with several high school classmates over twenty-five years ago; the latter entity ran several successful annual charitable events in New York City at venues like The Puck Building, The Columns and The Hammerstein Ballroom. Mr. Schutty also was one of the principals who sponsored the Intrepid Air-Sea-Space Museum Fall Ball/Redd Ball from 1992 until 1999. Mr. Schutty obtained his A.B. from Columbia College and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

Paul Newman
Paul Newman, Board of Directors

Paul Newman is a retired veteran of Wall Street. He is now a director of the “L.M Newman & Family Foundation” which provides financial support to a number of pioneering charities such as the Museum of Tolerance, the UCSD Bannister House, the Shiley Eye Center at UCSD, and a “Touch of Comfort.” Paul is pleased to continue his charitable work through NY-ers for Charity, Inc.
